Police arrest suspect of reservation-fraud at the Oktoberfest

Police arrested a man, who had sold reservations in the Hippodrom for up to 3000€ and smuggling people into the tent.

As the Munich newspaper "Münchner Merkur" reports, a man is suspected of having sold reservations for places in the Hippodrom tent, which didn't exist. The reservations had been sold over the internet for up to 3000€.
At the Oktoberfest, the alleged fraud had smuggeld the buyers into the tent. It seems that waitresses had helped, keeping the places vacant, so that they buyers actually did get a seat in the Hippodrom.

The whole thing was discovered by a watchful tent manager. The proprietor of the Hippodrom, Sepp Krätz, said that he was very proud that his staff had helped to uncover the scheme.
