Smoking at the Oktoberfest

Bavaria has one of the strictest non-smoking laws in Europe. Since 1st Augsut 2010 smoking is forbidden also in the festival tents.

When the non-smoking law became effective for the landlords of the tents arose the problem how to enforce it. Often the tents have to close because of overfilling and if you go outside, you can't enter again.

Thats why the landlords of the tents are planning to create non-smoking areas. In the hippodrom and the augustiner tent there are already balconies for smokers.

If you're catched during smoking, you have to reckon with going unserved or being evicted from the tent.
