The Beer-Prices for 2012 have been announed.

An average of 35 cent is how much the price for one liter of beer will increase in comparison to last year. This equals 3.9%. An overview of the beer-prices in the big tents and how the the beer-price has increased in the last decade.

The average price for a „Maß“ – one liter of Oktoberfest beer – will be 9.35€ this year. Ten years ago a liter of beer at the Oktoberfest cost between 6.30€ and 6.80€, an average of 6.55€. This means an increase of almost 43%. Still, there is no need to call beer “liquid gold”, as the price for gold has increased by 300%!

Still, the tent-proprietors will make quite some profit with their Oktoberfest-beer. Last year, 7.5 million liters were sold, which would equal a volume of 70.125.000€!

With a price of 9.50€, Schottenhamel, the Löwenbrau tent, Käfer and Fischer-Vroni sell the most expensive beer this year, the cheapest Maß can be found at the Haxnbraterei with 9.10€.
