Münchner Knödelei

The icon of Bavarian cuisine: The dumpling.

“Preserving and spreading dumpling culture” is what the Knödelei (“Dumpling” = “Knödel”) has chosen as a not too serious motto for their Oktoberfest tent. The proprietors Florian and Bettina Oberndorfer also run the very popular Munich restaurant “Wirtshaus in der Au” and offer their guests a huge variety of dumplings.

There are spicy dumplings with mushrooms or cheese, especially healthy dumplings with spinach or beetroot and even sweet variations like the banana-dumpling. The Knödelei is always easy to find, as it looks like a giant stove.

Visit the Knödelei and experience Bavarian cooking with a twist.
