Football/Soccer matches during the Oktoberfest

There is hardly anything that is as typical for Munich as the Oktoberfest and football.

One of the most popular combinations of events is a visit at the Oktoberfest before or after seeing Bayern München or TSV 1860 München play one of their home matches

FC Bayern

The Allianz Arena (Werner-Heisenberg-Allee 25) is easy to reach from the Oktoberfest. The U6 leaves at the stations Poccistraße and Goetheplatz near the festival grounds and brings you straight to Fröttmaning.

  • September 25th, 20:30: FC Bayern - FC Augsburg
  • October 2nd, 21:00: FC Bayern - Ajax Amsterdam
  • October 6th, 18:30: FC Bayern - Borussia Mönchengladbach

TSV 1860 München

The home stadium of “the lions” is the legendary Stadion an der Grünwalder Straße (Grünwalder Straße 2–4). Your easiest way to get there is to go to Hauptbahnhof and change into subway U1 or U2 there that will bring you to Silberhornstraße. From there it’s either a short walk or an equally short ride in the streetcar to Tegernseer Landstraße.

  • September 22nd, 14:00: TSV 1860 München - SV Wehen Wiesbaden
  • October 1st, 19:00: TSV 1860 München - FC Würzburger Kickers

Please note that there are also strict regulations for entering both stadiums. Bringing bags and rucksacks is restricted very much, just like bringing liquids, glasses, bottles, mugs and the like.
