The Wiesn lost-and-found department

Items found at Munich’s Oktoberfest

Coats, pullovers, cellphones, glasses, keys, identification cards and traditionally at least one set of false teeth are the classics among the over 4000 objects which are handed into the lost-and-found department at Oktoberfest each year. All information about the Wiesn lost-and-found department can be found here.

Lost something at the Wiesn?

Items found are normally handed in by the tent or stall staff the day after they have been lost; it’s therefore sensible to only come to the Wiesn lost-and-found department a day or two after you’ve lost something. Before then, it’s worth directly asking staff at the places you visited.

Found something at Oktoberfest? Here’s where to take it.

Found items can be deposited here:

  • with staff at the rents, stalls or rides
  • with the police
  • in the lost-and-found department in the Service Center
  • at the MVG counter in the Theresienwiese U-Bahn station

During Oktoberfest an extra Wiesn lost-and-found department is installed in the Service Center at Theresienwiese (entrance to festival management, basement floor). You can find the Service Center behind the Schottenhamel beer tent.

Items found at Oktoberfest are stored here after it’s over

From the beginning of November 2019 all items found at the Wiesn can be collected from the municipal lost-and-found department in the Oetztaler Straße 19, 81373 München (U-Bahn Harras). The items are kept there until the end of January 2020. When there are clues to the identity of the item’s owner (for example an ID card or SIM card), they are automatically notified after Oktoberfest. Items found belonging to visitors from further afield or from abroad are sent to their local authorities, embassies or consulates.
