Probably the most common pronunciation error on the Oktoberfest? To pronounce the ‚Maß‘ with a long ‚a‘. In the Bavarian dialect the ‚a‘ is pronounced shortly, so you say ‚Mass‘ explains Liesl Weapon. Other important words for small talk in the tent? Girls and boys are ‚Madln und Buam‘, a kiss is called ‚Busserl‘ and ladies with a beautiful décolleté have ‚Hoiz vor da Hüttn‘.
