Historic costume groups from all over the world in Munich!

Starting point was the Maximilianstraße. From there, the hunting clubs, historic costume groups and bands moved in 60 groups through the city centre, Odeonsplatz to Stachus and Sonnenstraße and via Paul-Heyse-Straße and Esperantoplatz to Theresienwiese. Among them were the splendid carriages of the Munich breweries, 40 festively decorated carriages, and of course the Münchner Kindl, the city mascot, followed by the Mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter, and the Bavarian Prime Minister in festive carriages.

Guests from Austria, Italy, Serbia

And not only Bavarian groups were present: International historic costume groups, sport and mountain shooters and music bands presented themselves to the enthusiastic spectators at the roadsides. The spectator stands on the grandstands were also very crowded - after all, they offered the best view of the seven kilometre long parade from there. This year guests from Austria, South Tyrol, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Serbia, Lithuania and Bosnia and Herzegovina took part.

Around 12 o'clock the Trachten- and Schützenzug then arrived on the Theresienwiese - and went there through the Wirtsbudenstraße to the tents. Armbrustschützenzelt-host Peter Inselkammer, for example, greeted the guild of crossbowmen in his tent, who together with the bands moved into the tent, where they continued celebrating in the shooting hall.
