Hospitality for socially disadvantaged Munich residents: "Wiesn mit Herz"

Traditional hospitality: Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter today welcomed over 250 socially disadvantaged Munich residents to the Schottenhamel Festival Hall during the "Wiesn mit Herz" (Wiesn with a heart) campaign. From there he started his tour in further beer tents, in which altogether approximately 1,300 humans were treated to a meal.

Oktoberfest for really all people of Munich

A total of six large and eleven small Oktoberfest beer tents today invited socially disadvantaged Munich citizens to lunch at the festival. The owners of the other big and small tents also took part on their own initiative. The motto of the occasion: Even people who would otherwise not be able to afford a visit to the Oktoberfest should be able to enjoy it.

"Wiesn mit Herz" is a must for Mayor Dieter Reiter

Mayor Dieter Reiter is delighted with this commitment: "I think it is important that people in particular can spend a few nice hours on the Wiesn, who would otherwise not be able to afford it. That's why my visit to 'Wiesn mit Herz' is a fixed date in my calendar. Many thanks to all those who make the campaign possible and are involved with a lot of commitment!

More than 100 Munich institutions such as old people's and service centres, social citizens' houses or the Munich Foundation suggested the invitations. The social department of the city of Munich took care of the organisation and the selection of people for the guest list.
