The sun is shining as if she knew that the children are coming to the Wiesn today. On the first of two family days, more than 1000 children can have a snack in the small tents - and then, of course, ride the merry-go-round and the Ferris wheel.

Children's day on the Wiesn: fun for the little ones

What a picture! No step at the feet of Bavaria remained empty when 1000 excited preschool children in Wiesn shirts designed especially for them waited more or less patiently until they were greeted by Wiesnstadtrat Otto Seidl. Today, on the first family day at the Oktoberfest - the second will take place next Tuesday, 1.10. - the little ones were allowed to eat their snacks in the various small tents instead of in the day care centre. And then, in bright sunshine, they went to the merry-go-rounds and to the Ferris wheel.

A joint action of the showmen, tent hosts and the city of Munich

For many of the children, this is the first time they have experienced the Wiesn adventure. The children's Wiesn stroll is a joint action of the showmen and market traders, the small and large Oktoberfest tent hosts. The fun for the little ones is organized by the city of Munich. Christian Schottenhamel, deputy spokesman for the great Wiesnwirte, was delighted: "Petrus looked down and said: now I'll stop the rain, the sun is shining today, so that the children have a very, very nice day on the Wiesn."

Tuesday is family day: reduced prices for rides and tents

"The pre-school children's campaign is one of our most beautiful dates here on the Wiesn", said the spokeswoman of the showmen, Yvonne Heckl, "when we invite far more than 1000 children to their first Wiesn stroll and see the happy children's eyes." The campaign took place on the first Wiesn Tuesday, which is also the first of two family days at the Oktoberfest. Today and on Tuesday, October 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. there are not only discounted prices at the merry-go-rounds and other rides, but also at the stands and in the small and large tents there are special offers for families with children. For example, dishes suitable for children at lower prices or places reserved for families in the tents. By the way: Every day there is a children's day at the "Familienplatzl" in Wiesn-Straße 3!
