From ski racer to pop star
At 21:34 o'clock the first Wiesntag slowly came to an end, when Thomas Gottschalk entered the stage in the Marstall-Festzelt - of course under a thunderstorm of flashlights. With "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht" (Marble, Stone and Iron Breaks) the entertainment legend had something calmer on his ears at first - probably also for his fresh love Karina Mroß. She celebrated with the audience in front of the stage.
The encore then became rockier: With Status Quo's "Rockin' all over the world", the 69-year-old showed why he is one of the best entertainers in the country: with air guitar as well as a sure touch of rhythm and lyrics, he enthused the guests in the Marstall tent. Among them, by the way, were the professional soccer players of 1. FC Cologne, who visited the Wiesn after losing 4:0 against FC Bayern.
