Thomas Gottschalk: performance at the Oktoberfest

The entertainer takes over mic and air guitar in the Marstall

It was a fun first Wiesn evening in the Marstall tent. After the great Oktoberfest start, all guests were in the best mood - there was a surprising highlight at a late hour: Thomas Gottschalk entered the stage and grabbed the microphone himself. Rockin' all over the Wiesn!

From ski racer to pop star

At 21:34 o'clock the first Wiesntag slowly came to an end, when Thomas Gottschalk entered the stage in the Marstall-Festzelt - of course under a thunderstorm of flashlights. With "Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht" (Marble, Stone and Iron Breaks) the entertainment legend had something calmer on his ears at first - probably also for his fresh love Karina Mroß. She celebrated with the audience in front of the stage.

The encore then became rockier: With Status Quo's "Rockin' all over the world", the 69-year-old showed why he is one of the best entertainers in the country: with air guitar as well as a sure touch of rhythm and lyrics, he enthused the guests in the Marstall tent. Among them, by the way, were the professional soccer players of 1. FC Cologne, who visited the Wiesn after losing 4:0 against FC Bayern.

Will there be a new "Wiesnhit" in 2019?

The Drafi-Deutscher hit and the rock anthem, which Tommy covered with sovereign ease, are all-time hit songs - whether there will be a new catchy tune to sing along to in 2019, and if so, which one it will be, will turn out in the next two weeks. Is there even a second Wiesnhit season for Cordula Grün? Or something completely new, maybe "Weiterziehn", which Felix Neureuther spontaneously gave on the first evening in the wine tent?
