Meeting of the showmen seniors in the Marstall festival tent

The meeting of the former showmen in 2022

Great joy at the reunion after a two-year break! On September 21, former showmen and women met in the Marstall festival tent for the traditional regulars' table. Wiesn boss Clemens Baumgärtner listened to their memories.

Showmen* are pleased about invitation

The senior citizens' regulars' table at the Oktoberfest was once again a wonderful opportunity for former showmen* to chat about old times. Marstall hosts Siegfried and Sabine Able invited more than 50 former Wiesn employees* with a minimum age of 70 to the house box of their marquee. "Unfortunately, many of them can no longer come, but they are always very happy about the invitation," said Yvonne Heckl from the Veranstaltungsgesellschaft der Münchner Schausteller (VMS). As the oldest participant, 86-year-old Klaus Zimmermann made it to the meeting. The "Altschaustellerstammtisch" was founded back in the 1990s by former Wiesn festival director Gabriele Weishäupl, who stopped by in person this year.

Oktoberfest boss Baumgärtner received carousel as a souvenir

After the meeting, which lasted about two hours, VMS Managing Director Robert Eckl thanked the Able family for the invitation with a bouquet of flowers and a mini Ferris wheel. For the Oktoberfest boss Clemens Baumgärtner there was a small carousel as a souvenir. Siegfried Able returned the favor with a Marstall silk scarf for each guest and found the visit of the showmen* a great honor for his tent. After all, the former showmen are a living Oktoberfest tradition full of exciting stories.
