The new festival tent featuring roast chicken, a wooden barrel, and the rafting tradition
Rafting spirit meets festive cheer: With Bartls Flösserstadl, the Oktoberfest 2026 will gain a new, small festival tent. It can seat about 400 guests at 40 tables — small enough for an intimate atmosphere and large enough for a lively folk festival vibe.
Here's what guests can expect at Bartls Flösserstadl
The duck and chicken rotisserie focuses on a warm, convivial atmosphere: plenty of wood, charming details inspired by rafting, and the feel of a Bavarian alpine hut give the festival tent a cozy and distinctive character. Wiesn hosts Klaus Bartl and Christian Erhardt bring a piece of Munich’s history to the Theresienwiese, weaving tradition into the very place where new stories are born. Their roots as hosts stretch from running an alpine inn in Haar to managing a campground at the Floßlände in Thalkirchen. Now they’ve made their home at the Wiesn—with genuine hospitality, Bavarian delights, and the joy of bringing people together around a table.
The Menu: A Culinary Journey Featuring Chicken, Duck, and Augustiner Beer
As a duck and chicken rotisserie, poultry dishes take center stage on the menu. The kitchen combines Oktoberfest classics with a high-quality, modern twist. In addition to roast chicken, duck, and other delicacies, the menu also features vegetarian and vegan dishes. Special emphasis is placed on quality, regional ingredients, and sustainability.
To go with your meal, the Flösserstadl serves the popular Augustinerbräu beer, which is traditionally poured from 100-liter wooden barrels into beer mugs. Augustiner is the only brewery that still serves its Oktoberfest beer in this traditional way—and many beer connoisseurs swear that beer from a wooden barrel simply tastes just a little bit better. Those who prefer to toast with a glass of wine or champagne will also find what they’re looking for at the Flösserstadl. From beer mugs to champagne glasses, the venue offers a special selection—and there’s something for every taste.
The Audience: For everyone who loves to celebrate the Wiesn to the fullest
Friends, families, clubs, coworkers, and business groups who appreciate good food, high-quality drinks, and a genuine folk festival atmosphere gather at the Flösserstadl—it’s the perfect place to relax, raise a glass, and celebrate in style. If you enjoy Bavarian music, brass band music, Alpine rock, and ''Volksfest''-hits, this is the place for you. Five different bands keep the party going all day long: at noon, the atmosphere is a bit more laid-back and traditional, but as the day goes on, things get significantly livelier. That way, the Flösserstadl stays Bavarian and authentic from the morning until 11 p.m.—while also offering exactly the energy you need for a truly great time at Oktoberfest.
You'll only find this here: the tradition of rafting, with great attention to detail
At the Flösserstadl, the centuries-old tradition of the ''Isarflößer'' is kept alive. Historical images and lovingly crafted details tell the story of the rafters, their journeys down the Isar, and their special significance for Munich. The result is a lively festival tent where tradition lives on as new stories unfold. Or, as they say at the Flösserstadl: “Auf Floss geht's los!”
