Join the traditional costume and hunter’s parade
The traditional costume and hunter’s parade is one of the highlights of the Munich Oktoberfest. It has a long tradition – the parade took place for the first time in 1835, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Oktoberfest. Around 9,000 people from throughout Europe present the vast array of traditional costumes, customs and folk dances. Many have dreamed of being part of the action when the parade makes its way from the Max II monument to the festival site through Munich city center. Now your dream can become reality. If you and your band or costume club would like to join the traditional costume and hunters’ parade, you can apply to participate through Festring München e.V. The association has been in charge of organizing the parade, which has always taken place on the first Oktoberfest Sunday since 1956.
