Virtual reality at the Oktoberfest
The VR adventure coaster "Dr. Archibald - Master of Time" celebrates its premiere in 2019. It is a mixture between a run business and a ghost train that guarantees fun, action and a bit of spookyness for young and old people.
What's special: The visitor becomes part of the story
Dr. Archibald, a history professor, amateur archaeologist, and inventor, has disappeared, and visitors set out to find him. Virtual reality glasses transport you into a realistic-looking animated world. During the search, visitors travel through time: it begins in prehistoric times, leads to the mysterious Atlantis, and finally ends in the age of industrialization. Before and after the ride in one of the 32 two-seater carriages, a fun obstacle course awaits you. The adventure ride is an experience for the whole family and is suitable for children aged six and above. During the day, there is also a fantasy film that is suitable for families and can be enjoyed by children taller than 1.10 meters. A barrier-free entrance is available for guests with disabilities.

The adventure train was first presented at the Hamburg Dom in 2018 after three years of development and production, where it already enjoyed great popularity. Guests at the Theresienwiese can also look forward to a great adventure on the adventure train. The state-of-the-art Pico VR glasses in 4K quality ensure that after a short period of familiarization, you will forget the real world and be able to immerse yourself completely in the simulation. The course also impresses with wobble, water, and sound effects. In addition, there is a catwalk and even an X-ray simulation.

Every visitor reacts kind of different to the spectacular simulation during his journey through time. Because of these interactions the audiovisual content gets recreated in real time and adjusts to the current position of the visitor chaises. There are effects with fire, water and smoke, interactive screens and more than a million LED lights. So you can say that the new ride is technically up to date. "Dr. Archibald - Master of Time" is a great mixture between a run business and a ghost and adeventure ride for young and old discoverers.
Attention scary!
From 19:00, the ride is switched to a horror version for visitors who are in the mood for more scares.
