Mr. Gravity

Hovering over the Oktoberfest at 100 km/h

Mr. Gravity, the high-altitude ride, will be making its first appearance at the Oktoberfest in Munich in 2023. Here, ten gondolas for two people rotate on a disc and ensure a good dizzy feeling.

At 100 km/h at a height of 20 meters

Mr. Gravity is not for the faint of heart. Passengers sit securely on individual seats on a large round plate. A maximum of 20 people can ride along. And then it goes around very fast, up and down. The gondolas are located on a disc that can be rotated in both directions. Circumferential speeds of 100 km/h can be reached. This disc is supported at one end by an arm that also rotates; at the other end is a counterweight. This arm can also rotate in both directions.

Forces up to 5g

The arm can be lifted in the middle via a lifting mechanism; due to the inclined mounting, this can be moved to a height of approx. 20 meters in the full lifting position; the disc is almost vertical in this case. Due to the combination of both rotations and the height that can be reached, passengers are sometimes subjected to forces of up to 5g, which can be used to push them into the seat. You have to be at least 140 centimeters tall to ride. There is a measuring opportunity on site.

2017 for the first time at a folk festival

The Oberschelp family of showmen started the business in 2017in operation. The high-rise ride celebrated its premiere in Hanover.
