Every ride is unique, because the number and intensity of the gondolas’ flips depend on the passengers’ weight and the operator’s driving style. That’s what makes the gondolas—which are no longer rigidly mounted but can move freely—so special.
The History of Shake & Roll
The Shake & Roll is a modern evolution of the legendary “Break Dance,” a very popular ride from the 1990s. It was originally built by Mondial in 1991 as the “Break Dance.” The first modifications to create rollover gondolas took place in 1993. This laid the foundation for the ride’s current dynamic design. It wasn’t until 2022 that the major upgrade took place—not only a fresh, 1950s-style look, but also technical upgrades such as reduced power consumption, safety enhancements, and free flips.
