Musicians from all over Bavaria and beyond were able to upload their music until the end of May. Now it's up to the music fans to decide.

A total of 115 songs were submitted between May 7 and May 31. In a pre-selection with the band leader of the Münchner Zwietracht Wolfgang Köbele and Sebastian Gröller from the folk music department of the Bavarian State Association for the Preservation of Local Heritage, the songs were checked for compliance with the entry requirements. These included criteria such as playability, release date, suitability for the festival tent and the lyrics.

Take part and win!

All online voters can win a total of 80 seats in the beertent.

Now it's up to all fans of the Wiesn! From Thursday, June 12, 10 a.m., until July 16, midnight, you can vote for your personal favorite song at www.oktoberfest-musikwettbewerb.de. It's worth taking part: 20 people taking part in the public vote will be entered into a prize draw for four places including two beer vouchers and a chicken voucher from the Verein der Münchner Brauereien e.V. (Munich Breweries Association).

The selection of the panel of experts shows the diversity and potential of the regional music scene. The encouragement we have already received from musicians, Oktoberfest hosts, breweries, radio stations and Oktoberfest bands shows the importance of the competition. I am delighted that so many musicians have taken part.
