Fans can vote online for their favorites

On Thursday, January 15, at 8 a.m., online voting for the official motif of the City of Munich for Oktoberfest 2026 will begin on the city portal muenchen.de. Until Sunday, January 25, at midnight, anyone interested will have the opportunity to vote for their personal favorite motifs. All you need to vote is an email address.

A total of 129 designs were submitted, of which 89 valid proposals were approved for voting. The top 30 from the vote will be presented to a jury, which will select the official motif for 2026. The city will use this motif to promote the traditional folk festival worldwide, both analog and digitally. The award-winning motif for Oktoberfest will be featured on the internet, social media, licensed merchandise, and posters. It will also adorn the official series beer mug, continuing the series of coveted collector's mugs that began in 1978.

The Oktoberfest motif competition is organized by the Department of Labor and Economic Development of the City of Munich in cooperation with the official city portal muenchen.de. The City of Munich has been holding this competition annually since 1952.

Take part and win!

All participants in the online vote will be entered into a prize draw on October 3 for two sets of five seats in the Stadtratsboxe in the Schottenhamel Festhalle – including a voucher for a Hendl (roast chicken) and a beer per person. There are also five official Oktoberfest™ collector's mugs with the new design to be won.
