The Pfennigparade as a guest at the Oktoberfest
At the invitation of the Department of Labor and Economic Development, four workshop employees from the Pfennigparade Foundation visited the Oktoberfest on the first Monday.

A tour of accessibility at the Wiesn
Wiesn boss Dr. Christian Scharpf: "To ensure that the Oktoberfest is truly a festival for everyone, we work every year to further reduce barriers. As organizers, we are pleased that we are able to do this a little more every year, thanks to the expertise of the city's Disability Advisory Council and the feedback from visitors with and without disabilities."
The idea of inviting the Pfennigparade team to the Oktoberfest was born at the end of 2024 as part of the Germany-wide “Schichtwechsel” project. This involves people with and without disabilities swapping jobs for a day to get to know each other's working environments. Initiated by the Munich Employment and Qualification Program (MBQ) in the Department of Labor and Economic Affairs, the Oktoberfest Press Office also took part in the “shift swap”. The two groups were immediately united by their interest, fun and love of the Oktoberfest, which is why they agreed to visit the Theresienwiese together immediately after the meeting.
About the "MBQ"
MBQ is Munich's central initiative for municipal employment policy, further vocational training and equal participation in working life. Among other things, MBQ is committed to greater inclusion and visibility of people with disabilities in working life, for example with the Inclusive Job Fair in Munich and together with the Munich Pfennigparade Foundation for the Germany-wide project “Shift Change”.
The services and offers for people with disabilities at the Wiesn are expanded every year.
