Second public vote begins
Saustoimusi with “Käferbam,” Fenzl with “Bierdringa,” and Matakustix with ‘Hüttenliebe’ – these are the finalists in the Oktoberfest music competition “A Liad für d'Wiesn.”

13,000 music fans voted

From June 12 to July 16 at midnight, more than 13,000 music enthusiasts voted on the voting portal to decide who would advance to the second round. “The result of the vote was close and shows the high quality of our competition. Our panel of experts selected eight great songs,” said Wiesn boss Dr. Christian Scharpf, Minister of Labor and Economic Affairs. Just under 1,000 votes separated first place from eighth place.
Not only the three finalists have reason to celebrate, but also 20 participants in the public vote. They can look forward to four seats each in the Löwenbräuzelt, along with chicken and beer vouchers. The Verein der Münchner Brauereien (Munich Brewers' Association) organized this raffle to support the competition.
Now the decisive voting phase begins

Now the final phase is underway. The starting signal was given on Saturday, August 2, at the Brass Wiesn in Eching. On the stage of the well-known brass band festival, the finalists' songs were played live in front of an audience for the first time by the Wiesnkapelle “Die Blechblos'n” brass band. From now until September 15, the audience can once again vote for their favorite online. In the second voting phase, our partner in the music competition, Antenne Bayern, will take over the voting process. The winner will present their “Liad für d'Wiesn” on September 18 during the press tour at the Oktoberfest.
115 bands from Germany, Bavaria, and Austria participated

This year, the music competition organized by the Department of Labor and Economic Development is being held for the first time in collaboration with Antenne Bayern, Brass Wiesn, the Association of Munich Breweries, and the Association of Munich Oktoberfest Landlords. The Oktoberfest bands “Münchner Zwietracht” and “Die Kirchdorfer,” as well as the Heimatverein Bayern, are supporting the development of the competition. The musical patron is Beni Hafner (Oimara), the rising star of the young Bavarian music scene. 115 musicians took part in the “A Liad für d'Wiesn” competition.
