Kufflers Weinzelt: Reservation, atmosphere, history

Magnificent wine tent with fantastic music: celebrate until 1 a.m.!

No pale beer, but wheat beer (until 9:00 p.m.) and a large selection of wines. A popular address for party-goers at a later hour. If you don’t end up coming in, you’ll still have the heated bar in front of the tent.

What’s special: wine, Prosecco, and celebrating until 1 in the morning

On the Oktoberfest, it doesn’t always have to be beer. The Weinzelt offers is a large selection of wines, sparkling wine, and champagne. And thanks to the rustic wood paneling, visitors feel like they’re in a Franconian vineyard. Here you can sit on comfortable corner benches in cozy wooden boxes. That way you can celebrate into the night with live music, while most other tents are already closed.

The history: serving wine since the beginning of the Oktoberfest

A wine tent at the largest beer festival in the world? It’s anything but new. The good wine has had its firm place on the Oktoberfest since 1885. Originally, it was smaller bodegas and wine stands. Today’s wine tent was only brought to the Oktoberfest in 1984 by the Nymphenburger Sektkellerei. Since then, it’s been standing full of splendor and always at the same place at the front of the Oktoberfest, with a direct view of the Bavaria.

The audience: regulars and celebrities

Only wine, Prosecco and champagne are served after 9:00 p.m. And then the mood really boils over. After all, many regular guests celebrate here until after midnight – when other tents have been long-since closed. If you like it a little quieter, you should stop by the Weinzelt in the afternoon. everyone can find a comfy spot on the cozy corner benches. The Weinzelt is a popular destination among Munich celebrities. Probably also due to the atmosphere being a bit more dignified, and the tent being a bit smaller.

The music: the Blechblos’n have rocked the tent since 1994

No traditional brass music plays in the Weinzelt. The full-blooded musicians of the bands strike the right note at any time. Even after midnight. Five bands alternate from midday. onwards. And at the latest, when the Blechblos’n take the reins in the afternoon, none of the guests can stay still. After all, the Munich band has been rocking the Weinzelt since 1994.

The menu: from pork hocks to fish to Asian cuisine

Of course, the guests don’t just come to the Weinzelt for wine, Prosecco, and a relaxed atmosphere. Gourmets can also look forward to the extensive menu. And it can hardly be surpassed in culinary diversity. It combines the highlights from Munich’s various Kuffler restaurants: Bavarian dishes from the Haxnbauer, fish dishes from the Seehaus in the English Garden, and exotic dishes such as shrimp from the Mangostin Asia restaurants.

For backseat drivers: a gem on the Oktoberfest

From an interior design perspective, the Weinzelt is a true gem on the Oktoberfest. The rustic wooden paneling is made using wood that’s more than one hundred years old. The tent interior was redecorated in 2015. Instead of cloths hanging parallel to the roof, wreaths of flowers and wine tent flags now fill the interior of the Weinzelt.
