Oktoberfest: Dubai event may not advertise with name of Munich original

Plans for an event in Dubai have been making headlines since the end of April. The Munich I Regional Court has issued a ruling in the proceedings brought by the City of Munich against the organizers of the Dubai event. According to the ruling, the latter will be prohibited in future from creating the impression that the Munich Oktoberfest is moving to Dubai in 2021.

Media reports about an alleged relocation of the Munich Oktoberfest to Dubai caused a stir at the end of April. The city of Munich is now taking legal action against the organizers of the "Oktoberfest goes Dubai" event with a warning letter.

Oktoberfest stays at home: Statement regarding articles about Oktoberfest in Dubai

Recently, media in German-speaking countries have been reporting intensively on plans by a private individual to hold an Oktoberfest in Dubai. Various headlines linguistically suggest that the Munich Oktoberfest is actually being relocated to Dubai, is moving there, or is taking place in the desert this year due to a possible cancellation.

Oktoberfest poster: The poster 2021

Even though there will be no Oktoberfest 2021, the Oktoberfest poster for this year has been chosen: Munich resident Maria Elisabeth Dick has designed the motif for the 187th Oktoberfest. The Department of Labor and Economy (RAW) has chosen the winning poster for the fifth time in a public competition on the official city portal muenchen.de and with a jury. Peter Reichert to be the new landlord of the Bräurosl tent

The Hacker-Pschorr brewery has found a new landlord for the Bräurosl tent. Following the withdrawal of the Heide family, Peter Reichert is now to take charge of the popular Wiesn tent. He is already known at the Oktoberfest as the landlord of another tent.
