Oktoberfest opening times

Beer tents, stalls and fairground hours

When is the tapping of the barrel, what time does the music play till in the tents and what time is the last call? How long in the evening can you admire the Wiesn from above in the Ferris wheel? All the important opening times for the Oktoberfest. The 188th Oktoberfest will take place from September 16, 2023 at the Theresienwiese. The Oktoberfest ends on the first Sunday in October. However, it can also be extended by the public holiday ( October 3), which falls on Tuesday in 2023.

Beer tent opening times

On the first Saturday of the Oktoberfest, the tents will open at 9 a.m., non-alcoholic beverages (except beer) will be available from 10 a.m., and at 12 noon it will be time to "Ozapft is! With the tapping, the Wiesn is officially opened!

  • Monday through Friday, the tents open at 10 a.m. and close at 11:30 p.m.
  • On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, beer is served at 9 a.m., and the last beer tapping is at 11:30 p.m.
  • In the big tents the last beer and the last music is at 10:30. p.m.
  • In the small tents, such as chicken fryers, snack and café tents, the last beer and music is at 11 pm.

Exceptions: The Käfer Wiesn-Schänke and Kuffler’s Weinzelt (wine tent) are open till 1 am, last call here is at 12.30 am.

Fish sandwiches, balloons and Wiesn hearts: The stalls

  • On the first Saturday of the Wiesn the stalls open at 9 a.m. and remain open until midnight.
  • From Monday to Thursday (except on the holiday October, 3rd), opening hours start at 10 a.m. and end at 11:30 p.m.
  • Fridays and on Monday, 2nd of October, from 10 a.m. until midnight
  • Saturdays from 9 a.m. to midnight
  • Sundays and on the holiday (3rd of October) from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Fairground rides and showmen

Ferris wheel, Toboggan, Hau den Lukas or Teufelsrad:

  • On the first day, the attractions are open from midday to midnight.
  • Mondays to Thursdays (except on the holiday) you can ride the roller-coaster, enjoy the view from the Ferris wheel or be scared in the ghost train from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • On Fridays and on Monday, 2nd of October, from 10 a.m. until midnight
  • On Saturdays between 9 a.m. and midnight
  • On Sundays as well as on the holiday (October 3rd) from 10 a.m. till 11:30 p.m.

Oide Wiesn (Old Oktoberfest) opening times

Oide Wiesn has its own area in the south of the festival grounds.

  • The tents are open every day from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
  • Beer is served every day from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Fairground rides and showmen:

  • On the first day from midday to midnight
  • Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Saturday, and Montag, 2nd of October, from 10 a.m until midnight
  • Sunday and on the holiday (3rd of October) from 10 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.

The 2 family days at the Wiesn

On the 2 Tuesdays there are the official family days at Oktoberfest: They both last till 7 pm. In the tents there are reduced prices and menu deals for children and families and many rides and stalls offer reduced prices on these days. Simply look out for the signs “Familientag” or “Kindertag”.
