Quality seal “Ausgezeichnetes Festzelt" (Excellent festival tent) awarded to 15 Oktoberfest hosts

Excellent quality that you can taste

They stand for genuine hospitality, culinary love of their homeland and the highest level of craftsmanship: 18 restaurants and 16 marquee hosts from all over Bavaria were honored with the coveted “Ausgezeichnete GenussKüche” seal of quality. Among them were 15 establishments from the Oktoberfest.

Highest level of quality in the tent kitchens

The award was presented by Food Minister Michaela Kaniber and Angela Inselkammer, President of the Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association DEHOGA Bayern. The seal of quality with up to three diamonds stands for Bavarian gastronomy that is particularly typical of the region.

The award-winning establishments impressed the inspectors with their traditional yet contemporary cuisine using high-quality, regional products, as well as their genuine hospitality, well-groomed appearance and well-trained staff. The “GenussKüche” award is part of the new “Genuss Bayern” umbrella brand. With “Genuss Bayern”, the Ministry of Food will be highlighting Bavarian places and offers of enjoyment even more in future, giving honest enjoyment with surprising variety a stage.

Six innkeepers have been honored with the “Excellent Beer Culture” award, which highlights special commitment to the variety of Bavarian beer specialties. And for using regional products at major events such as the Oktoberfest, 16 Bavarian festival hosts received the “Ausgezeichnetes Festzelt (Excellent Festival Tent) award.

The quality seals are a joint initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism and DEHOGA Bayern. There are currently 126 “GenussKüche”-classified establishments throughout Bavaria that have been awarded up to three diamonds. The awards are based on the guiding principle “Regional.Seasonal.Original”.
